This page is designed to help Children's Discovery & Learning Center LLC staff access important training links, workplace expectations, forms, and center resources in one convenient place.
Staff members are responsible for staying current with required training, following center policies, maintaining active supervision, and communicating with administration when assistance is needed. Please use the resources below to support your role at the center.
Training Requirements
Staff are expected to complete all required onboarding, annual training, and role-specific training as assigned by administration.
- Orientation and onboarding training
- Mandated reporter training
- Health and safety training
- Medication administration, if assigned
- CPR/First Aid, if required for your position
- Annual professional development hours

Daily Staff Expectations
- Arrive on time and ready to work
- Clock in and out accurately
- Maintain active supervision at all times
- Keep classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and common spaces clean
- Use respectful communication with children, parents, coworkers, and administration
- Report concerns, injuries, incidents, or safety hazards immediately
Active Supervision
Staff must know where children are, what they are doing, and be able to intervene quickly when needed. Children should never be left unattended.
- Scan and count children often
- Position yourself to see and hear children
- Move around the room and playground
- Supervise transitions closely
- Communicate with coworkers before stepping away
Brightwheel
Staff may use Brightwheel for attendance, communication, daily updates, photos, messages, and other center-related tasks as assigned.
- Check children in and out accurately
- Record meals, naps, diapering, and activities as assigned
- Use professional language in all parent communication
- Do not share private child or family information outside approved systems
Transportation Staff
Drivers and transportation staff must follow all center transportation procedures and documentation requirements.
- Complete passenger logs accurately
- Confirm authorized release persons
- Complete visual passenger checks after each trip
- Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle
- Report transportation concerns immediately
Food Service Staff
Cooks and food service staff are responsible for supporting safe, clean, and appropriate food service.
- Follow posted menus and meal instructions
- Maintain clean food preparation areas
- Follow allergy and food restriction information
- Store food safely and properly
- Communicate supply needs to administration
Camp Counselors
Camp counselors are responsible for helping provide safe, organized, and engaging activities for children.
- Actively supervise children during activities and transitions
- Help maintain structure and positive behavior
- Assist with field trips, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods
- Communicate concerns to lead staff or administration
Important Reminder
All staff members are expected to follow center policies, licensing requirements, and administrative instructions. If you are unsure about a procedure, ask an administrator before taking action.
